NAV YUVAK KHEL ASSOCIATION [ NYKA ]
Nav Yuvak Khel Association has been set up to engage youth in JJ clusters and other economically and socially backward areas to consolidate their energies around various sports activities that allows them to develop team spirit, leadership values and gives direction to their free time.

NYKA has been designed to eventually become a platform for creating a group of concerned youth citizens who can help and assist in carrying out developmental works in their areas or who can rally around to demand better living conditions for themselves.
NYKA is an attempt to involve local youth, who have poor indices of education, health and employment into a self help group that engages with issues of collective improvement of their environment and quality of life.
NYKA has been devised as a schematic plan to gather a select group of people who have common interest in a game format and take that group through capacity building exercises to plan and execute developmental strategies to upgrade the quality index of their clusters and of the human quotient.
As a member of NYKA, youth are encouraged to set up small sports activities within their areas and within their means, with some support from us. They are taken through a team building exercise and groomed to lead a group of members around that sporting activity. Progressively, this group is introduced to various issue concerning their localities and their rights and duties through advocacy members of the parent group and trained to similarly expand the group activities in newer areas.
The NYKA process throws up three sets of leaders within such Low income clusters who then go on to develop their skills to achieve better jobs, or work within the NYKA organization as Team Captain, Area Manager or Programme Instructor.
NYKA is a wing of (People’s Action), a registered advocacy group working on issue of governance in the NCT of Delhi since 2003.
